Audio Visual Design Engineer – Diversified Australia (Perth)

Previously Rutledge AV, Australia’s largest AV Systems integrator, we are now part of an industry and world leading technology provider, Diversified proudly connecting our dynamic global clientele with technology solutions that keeps them competitive in an evolving market.

They are looking for a Design Engineer with a “can do” attitude to join our Engineering Division in our WA office. This role has a critical part in contributing and providing technical guidance and expertise within the team.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Extensive knowledge of video, audio and control systems
  • Standard computer skills based on Microsoft Windows
  • Strong knowledge for Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Experience with AutoCAD LT 2013 – 2019; line diagrams and layouts
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering – Electronics, Telecommunications or similar is desirable
  • ICT / Network Infrastructure background desirable
  • Self-driven with good time management and prioritising skills
  • Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Team player
  • Australian Government security clearance desired
  • Current valid driver’s licence.

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Design Audio Visual System design from both technical specifications and project briefs
  • Production of system schematic diagrams in AutoCAD, cabling spreadsheets, and room layouts
  • Provide system design solutions to meet written specifications at both the tender stage as well as project commencement
  • Investigation of new technology including implementation and integration
  • Document management for system drawings and project correspondence
  • Technical writing of project documentation including, but not limited to, narrative descriptions, quality and commissioning procedures and operation and maintenance manuals
  • Design of custom mounting hardware and brackets for audio visual equipment
  • Design and CAD of custom metal wall plates / floor box plates for both in-house and external manufacturing
  • Provide technical support to installation and projects departments
  • Provide technical support to the sales / estimating department with system design and product functionality knowledge
  • Provide on-site technical system commissioning at the completion of a project for more complex and advanced installations
  • Attend new product / technology training courses as they become available / necessary

Senior Editorial Lead – Apple Music ANZ (Sydney)

Audio Operations Communicator – ABC (Tasmania)

ABC Entertainment & Specialist is seeking an Audio Operations Coordinator to deliver advanced audio production skills to broadcast, record, mix and post for a wide range of programs and projects delivered to broadcast and online platforms across the ABC, predominantly for Local Radio Network.

Reporting to the Manager Audio Radio Operations you will provide a wide range of audio engineering skills to enable broadcast of live and pre-recorded studio-based programs, outside broadcasts and recordings as well as online streaming and download content.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • A deep understanding of current broadcast and online technologies, systems and equipment.
  • A comprehensive and sophisticated understanding of networked audio and new media technologies and the ability to adapt to new multi-media technologies
  • Strongly developed abilities to record and mix all types of audio from music, to spoken word features, documentaries and podcasts.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with a capacity to negotiate, establish relationships, train others and work well under pressure.
  • A creative can-do approach to the planning and broadcast of live programs outside of the studio, often in regional and outdoor locations.
  • Strong computer literacy skills – particularly with DAW platforms
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills and an understanding of the aims and roles of other members of the production team.

Senior Audio Visual Technician – Boutique AV Solutions (Melbourne)

Boutique AV Solutions is a global award-winning custom AV and technology integration company. Their bespoke services span system design, networking, video-conferencing, pro audio, home theatre, security, and all aspects of Audio Visual / IT integration in the commercial and residential sectors.

Reporting to the Project Manager you will utilise your extensive technical installation abilities and time management skills to complete tasks in an efficient manner. You will perform an integral role in the team, regularly liaising with the project and sales managers to help improve our services and efficiency.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • 5 years of experience as an Audio-Visual Technician
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate project documentation
  • Extensive AV and technology systems installation experience including but not limited to TVs, Projectors and Screens, Racking
  • Experience with programming control systems such as RTI, Crestron, Bitwise, CBUS, and Dynalite
  • Sound understanding of networking principles and wireless access point installation with particular emphasis on Ubiquiti Unifi
  • Audio Visual programming and equipment configuration experience
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to work autonomously to diagnose issues and faults
  • Proficient with PC and iOS/Android devices
  • A strong understanding of the construction methods – Commercial and Residential
  • Comfortable working in both Commercial and Residential environments
  • Exceptional understanding of WHS regulations and procedures
  • Demonstrated passion for learning new systems and technology
  • ACMA Open Cabling Licence with relevant endorsements
  • White Card
  • Current Drivers Licence (vehicle will be automatic)
  • Security and CCTV installation experience – Advantageous

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Installing integrated systems and audio-visual technologies
  • Cable-pulling, terminations, rack building, and equipment installation
  • Reading and interpreting plans, schedules and producing detailed ‘as-built’ documentation
  • Providing client support and attending service calls for existing installations
  • Providing feedback to the project manager and sales manager on project efficiency
  • Heavy lifting of equipment required (eg. large TVs)
  • Testing and commissioning prior to programming
  • Facilitating off-site programming by being the onsite contact
