Feast your eyes on the Kirk Hammett ESP Sparkle Ouija

The limited edition ESP KH-2 Sparkle is a direct descendent of Hammett’s own custom Ouja model, originally created way back in 1990 after Hammett was inspired by the spooky aesthetics of an ouja board. Twenty years after creating the original model, ESP were granted the rights to release the model to the wider public, with limited runs of ESP and LTD models finding their way onto the market.

The new ESP models are made in the company’s Custom Shop and are super spec’d-out with mother of pearl moon and star inlays upon an ebony fretboard, as well as set of EMG KH Bone Breaker Pickups, Floyd Rose Original bridge, Gotoh locking tuners and an extra-thin U-shaped gloss maple neck. The Custom Shop models, which are limited to 30 guitars for each finish, also come with a special Ouja case, a Certificate of Authenticity, an 8×10 photo of Kirk and a factory build sheet of the guitar. These ESP Ouja models arrive early next year, but here’s a heads up: they’ll will set you back around USD $12,000.

If your pockets are too breezy to afford such a pristine instrument, ESP are also creating 500 LTD models in each finish, featuring alder bodies, neck-thru-body construction and Macassar ebony fingerboard, as well as Hammett’s EMG Bone Breaker pickups and an official case. They’re definitely cheaper than the Custom Shop models, but you’ll still need to snag one quick snap.
