Every Code head is built around a rim design the company calls Grip-Tight. A deep, double-knurled steel core is crimped into an aluminium or steel outer rim, depending on the range, so the head stays put in the hoop. With this design, heads tune quicker, hold their tuning longer and resonate freely. The heads use a unique PET polyester film that results in stunning tonal qualities.

Code Drumheads are designed and manufactured to deliver the level of performance drummers expect – from single-ply and double-ply options through to coated, clear and specialist heads. Code’s range covers everything from rehearsal rooms and recording studios to touring stages.

• Signal – a thicker 14-mil single-ply with deep tone and plenty of attack. Great for the hard hitters who want longer life.
• Law – a 10-mil single-ply with a centre dot for a more focused hit and extra durability
• Generator – a twin-ply head (two 7.5-mil plies) for a warmer, more durable feel. This model proved to be one of the most popular, fat punchy tone and longer lasting.
• DNA – a standard 10-mil single-ply, in clear or coated. The great all rounder.
• Boomer – Nicko McBrain’s signature snare and tom heads, with a reverse donut dot.
• Blast – a single-ply kick head with a built-in dampening ring to control overtones. Classic kick tone.

A huge benefit of Code Drum Heads is that they are 100% recyclable. Every part of a Code head is manufactured with recyclable materials, which is well worth noting when you’re looking to reskin your kit – when these heads are done, they can go straight into the recycling bin, rather than landfill. 

This is due to the materials of Code heads – P.E.T film as opposed to mylar, and no glue or bonding agent, only steel and aluminium grip-tight crimp. It’s not every day you come across a drumhead with a completely environmentally safe footprint.
