This Custom Guitar Can Pull 12 Different Tones

glam-cc50franew-2.jpg

Having the perfect tone just a click, pull or push away, the custom guitar from Michael Kelly allows the player to alter and change the tone of the guitar with a four-way switch which completely changes and expands the guitar’s sonic options.

Michael Kelly’s newly emerged collaboration with Seymour Duncan sees the guitar fitted with Hot Rail humbucker pickups as well as a single coil pickup in the back. The humbuckers have the ability to transform into a more traditional single coil tone, which would turn the guitar into a more heavy-ended, fat rock tone and with a single click can transition into a more surf-style tone next.

The 12-tone mod on the CC50 has a four-way switch as compared to the traditional three-way switch. Still allowing the player to switch between a typical neck, bridge or combined setting, the fourth position allows the series option. The guitar is fitted with two push-pull pots on the master volume which expands the tonal possibilities. The pickups can be positioned in 12 different ways for unique sonic settings.

If you’re thinking that the CC50 sacrifices the appearance for brains then you’re wrong. The CC50 is fitted with an exotic ebony body finish with a maple-bound top alder body. Keeping with the classic feel, the CC50 has a rosewood fretboard with a minimum 22 frets and dot inlays, a dual-action truss rod and a modern C neck profile. If you’re a fan of Michael Kelly’s work, the CC50 keeps to the classic feel and dimensions of Kelly’s other guitar range.
