Meet LEWITT’s most stage-ready dynamic vocal microphone yet

Lewitt MTP5
Words by Mixdown

The new LEWITT MTP 5 Live Vocal Microphone combines exceptional clarity, high feedback resistance and rugged full-metal construction into a dynamic stage mic designed for professional performers.

Dynamic stage microphones are a well-trodden category, which makes standing out difficult. LEWITT has spent the last decade quietly earning a reputation among some of the world’s biggest artists — Lisa from Blackpink, Stevie Wonder, Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, Robbie Williams and BTS among them — and the new MTP 5 is the brand’s attempt to push the classic live vocal mic further than the standard formula allows.

Catch up on all the latest news here.

The MTP 5 uses a tailored dynamic capsule designed specifically for stage use, delivering clarity and high-end response without the harsh sibilance that dogs a lot of microphones in its class. The highly efficient cardioid polar pattern gives strong isolation from stage noise and lets monitor speakers run loud without feedback becoming a problem. LEWITT has also optimised the off-axis frequency response to suppress high-frequency content from loud stage instruments like drums — a practical consideration that keeps the vocal signal clean even in chaotic live environments.

LEWITT has taken durability seriously, too. The mesh, grille and body are all full-metal construction, built to survive drops and the general wear and tear of life on tour. A metal ring around the grille acts as a natural barrier for performers who cup the mic — a common habit that typically wreaks havoc on the polar pattern — and the capsule is rubber-suspended to minimise handling noise. The integrated windscreen is washable, which is a small but appreciated detail for a mic shared between performers.

Beyond live vocals, the MTP 5 covers broadcasting, podcasting and instrument recording, and a switch version is also available for anyone who needs talkback functionality or wants to use it for emceeing and panel discussions.

Each MTP 5 ships with a microphone clip, transport bag and windscreen.
