Both units run on an 8-core processor with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and MPC3 OS, supporting up to 32 simultaneous plugin instances in standalone.

Akai Professional has announced the MPC One G2 and MPC Key 37 G2, second-generation updates to two of its most popular standalone production systems. Both machines share the same core hardware upgrade: an 8-core processor delivering four times the processing performance of the previous generation, paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

Internally, the upgrades translate into faster load times and support for up to 32 simultaneous plugin instruments and 16 stereo audio tracks in standalone. Both units run MPC3 OS 3.9, which adds a full Linear Arranger, a built-in oscillator engine and Ableton Live Control Mode with two-way project import and export. Both machines ship with over 20GB of included content, with Native Instruments Analog Dreams MPC Edition included free at launch.

Connectivity runs through a single USB-C cable with 24×24 audio and 32 channels of MIDI I/O. Producers can sample directly from phones and tablets via USB-C, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5 also on board. A 7-inch full-colour multitouch display handles navigation on both units.

MPC One G2

The MPC One G2 is for those who want the complete MPC experience in a compact desktop unit. Its 16 velocity- and pressure-sensitive RGB pads across eight banks sit alongside four touch-sensitive Q-Link knobs, with 5-pin MIDI in/out and four TRS CV/Gate jacks for hardware and modular integration. An SD card slot and USB-A port round out the connections. The blue colourway references the classic MPC4000 and MPC1000. It ships with 11 instrument plugins and nine expansion packs.

MPC Key 37 G2

The MPC Key 37 G2 suits producers who write on keys but live in the MPC. It puts a 37-key synth-action keybed with aftertouch, pitch and mod wheels front and centre, alongside the same 16-pad layout as the One G2. Where the One G2 leans into modular and hardware integration via CV/Gate, the Key 37 G2 is set up for studio production with two TRS inputs, two TRS outputs, eight CV/gate outputs and 5-pin MIDI in/out. Its cream finish is drawn from original MPCs of the late 1980s. It ships with 13 instrument plugins – including OPX-4, Jura and Sub Factory – and six expansion packs.

An optional Pro Pack is available for both units, adding stem separation, real-time time-stretching and Clip Matrix.
