The Inspired by Gibson Custom range just got a fresh coat with six new finishes across four iconic models.
Epiphone has expanded its Inspired by Gibson Custom collection with six new finish options across four of its most popular models: the 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue, the 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue, the Les Paul Custom and the 1963 Firebird I. The new colourways join the existing range without any spec changes, each model retaining its period-correct appointments, vintage-inspired hardware and USA-made Gibson pickups.

1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue – Dark Burst and Golden Poppy Burst
The ’59 Standard Reissue has long been the centrepiece of the Inspired by Gibson Custom range, and the two new finishes give its AAA flamed maple veneer top plenty of room to breathe. Dark Burst leans into the brooding end of the spectrum, while Golden Poppy Burst is exactly as the name suggests. Underneath either finish, you’ll get a solid mahogany body with carved maple cap, a one-piece mahogany neck with 1959 Rounded Medium C profile, and a bound rosewood fretboard with mother-of-pearl trapezoid inlays. Electronics are a pair of USA-made Gibson Custombucker humbuckers with Alnico 3 magnets, hand-wired to CTS pots with Black Beauty paper-in-oil capacitors and Switchcraft hardware throughout. It ships in a brown hardshell case with pink plush lining.

1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut Reissue – TV White and Cherry Red
The Double Cut Special already came in TV Yellow, and the addition of TV White and Cherry Red rounds out a classic trio of period-correct colours for this model. The guitar itself is a faithful take on the 1960 version of the Special, with the SlimTaper neck profile and repositioned neck pickup that made it such a player-friendly design. It’s built around a solid mahogany double-cut body with a one-piece mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and a 12″ radius, and a vintage-style Wraparound bridge. Its tone comes from two USA-made Gibson Custom P-90 Soapbar pickups, hand-wired with Bumblebee paper-in-oil capacitors for vintage-correct response across clean and driven tones.

Les Paul Custom – Amethyst Sparkle and Sedona Burst
The Les Paul Custom is the chicest guitar in the collection, and the two new finishes lean into that. Amethyst Sparkle is a stunning head-turner, and Sedona Burst takes a warmer, earthier route. The Custom’s specs match the model’s reputation, with bound ebony fretboard, multi-ply binding throughout, split diamond headstock inlay, and a mahogany body topped with maple for tonal balance. The neck is a one-piece mahogany with a Modern Medium C profile joined via a long tenon, with Grover Rotomatic tuners and a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Bar keeping things stable. Hand-wired Gibson USA 490R and 498T humbuckers with Mallory capacitors and Switchcraft components handle the electronics. This one ships in a black hardshell case with goldenrod plush lining.

1963 Firebird I – now with rosewood fretboard
The Firebird I update is a little different from the rest – alongside its Cherry finish, this version of the 1963 Firebird I Reissue adds a rosewood fretboard. The guitar is built around a 9-ply mahogany and walnut neck-through core with solid mahogany wings, 22 medium jumbo frets and mother-of-pearl dot inlays. Kluson planetary-geared banjo tuners sit at the headstock, a Lightning Bar Wraparound bridge handles intonation, and a single USA-made Gibson Firebird mini humbucker with Alnico 5 magnets keeps the electronics minimal and true to the original design.

All four guitars ship in hardshell cases with Inspired by Gibson Custom branding.
