Celebrating 20 years, BIGSOUND is a music industry event in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley which is the biggest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. The festival has live music, keynote talks from big ticket musicians and industry professionals and has added a First Nations-led edition of their youth conference.

Tarana Burke is a published author whose work You Are Your Best Thing: Vulnerability, Shame Resilience, and the Black Experience which was released this year offers an insight into the #MeToo movement and delves into the intersection of sexual violence and racial justice.
Henry Rollins made a name for himself through the punk rock band Black Flag, being their longest serving vocalist. Since then, Rollins has released spoken word records, acted in a bunch of movies, hosted several radio shows and lead his Rollins Band. He is a force of social justice and an outspoken activist on a wide range of issues.
Speaking for the USA, Tarana and Rollins will deliver their speeches live through the web, and guests will be able to ask questions and weigh in on the matters they’re discussing.
New in 2021 for BIGSOUND is the Little BLAKSOUND, a First Nations-led edition of their biennial youth conference. This program is designed to elevate, celebrate and represent the voices and perspectives of current and up-and-coming First Nations artists and industry workers.
The three day event of music discovery, industry discussions and essential parties is on September 7-9 and early bird tickets are on sale now.
