Paul Reed Smith Guitars unveil Private Stock Modern Eagle V Limited

Boasting a mahogany body with a deluxe curly maple high gloss top, the Modern Eagle V also includes a curly maple neck with a Brazilian rosewood fretboard and solid shell ripple Abalone bird inlays. There’s also a PRS Smoked Black Gen III tremolo system with locking saddles and Phase III tuners with Brazilian rosewood buttons – you’re really getting the penthouse treatment with this big bird.

PRS have also complemented the pristine design of the Modern Eagle V with two TCI humbuckers and a Narrow PRS singlecoil in the middle position, with two mini toggle switches being used to split the coils and turn the humbuckers into TCI-tuned singlecoils. There’s also a push pull tone knob to active both humbuckers simultaneously,  allowing you to blend all three pickups for big, beefy sound. The Modern Eagle V also includes a third mini toggle switch to change the value of the volume pot from 500k to 250k, offering an array of tonal options to fine tune your pickup output.

In a statement celebrating the release of the deluxe Private Stock Modern Eagle V, founder Paul Reed Smith said that the “Modern Eagle models have always been designed to stand up to history while celebrating tonewoods and the discovery of new tones. These instruments are the embodiment of that tradition married with the bold innovation of Private Stock and a new pickup system.”
