Lowden is releasing another guitar made out of whiskey barrels

This time around, the guitars are to feature copper binding from the large copper pot stills in the Northern Irish distillery, as well as yet again using barrel-wood in the construction of the 25 guitars to be built. With African blackwood gracing the back and sides of the body, Oloroso sherry casks used for some of the inlay work and alpine spruce in the soundboard, it’s set to be a very tasteful follow up to the previous run of whiskey-barrel guitars.

With a legacy of hundreds of years of whiskey making going into these barrel-woods, Bushmills being the oldest liscenced whiskey distillery in the world, and timber meticulously selected by Lowden for being some of the best tone woods when it comes to acoustic guitars, these instruments are shaping up to be a beautiful sounding work of fine art.

Plus, it’s a guitar made out of a whiskey barrel – what’s not to love?

Lowden Guitars are available in Australia at Acoustic Inn,  Aurora Guitars and Gladesville Guitar Factory. Lowden’s first whiskey-barrel guitar made it into our top 10 uncoventional products of 2017 – see what else made the cut here.
