Handmade by English luthiers Atkins Guitars, this Buddy Holly Limited Edition acoustic pays homage to the Gibson J-45 favoured by Holly himself. With the addition of 75 signatures, the guitar is ready to become a cherished collector’s item for any music fan.
The rare acoustic is covered in autographs from some of the finest musicians in history, including Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Keith Richards, Brian May, Robert Plant, Brian Wilson, Elvis Costello and more.
Other notable signatures include Dolly Parton, Bob Geldof, Dion, Albert Lee, and James Burton. Three autographs in particular pay tribute to Buddy Holly: Jerry Allison, the original drummer and co-songwriter of the Crickets, Sonny Curtis, the guitarist who featured on some of Holly’s early tracks and joined the Crickets following Holly’s passing, and Sonny West, co-writer of Holly hits ‘Rave On’ and ‘Oh, Boy!’
The proceeds from the sale of the guitar will go to Teen Cancer America, a charity which continues to make a difference in the lives of teens and young adults with cancer. Teen Cancer America is also supported by The Who’s Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend.
