The free update leaves the AC20, PR12 and SW50R models as they were, adding new amp skins, a preset browser and an edit history.
Neural DSP has given its Morgan Amps Suite the X treatment, adding new preset tools, an edit history and two new amp skins while leaving the three amp models unchanged.
The plugin first arrived at the end of 2023, modelling three amps from Morgan Amplification, the company Joe Morgan founded in 2009. The AC20 is a 20-watt single-channel amp based on a Vox AC30, the PR12 is a 12-watt take on the Fender Princeton Reverb with a spring reverb, and the SW50R is a 50-watt amp based on a Dumble clean channel with a tube-driven reverb added.

Most of the update deals with presets. Global Lock keeps the input, gate, transpose, doubler and output settings in place when switching between presets, and the new Preset Explorer moves browsing into a left-hand panel with search, custom tags, favourites and recently used presets. Hovering over a parameter now brings up a description in the bottom utility bar, and an undo/redo history makes it possible to step back through earlier settings.

According to lead plugin product manager François Barrillon, the aim is to let players “move between presets without losing essential settings”.
Everything else in the suite carries over. There are compression, overdrive, tremolo, delay and reverb effects, a nine-band graphic EQ for each amp and cabinet simulation with custom impulse response loading. More than 100 presets come from Charlie Robbins, Jack Gardiner, Rabea Massaad, Joshua De La Victoria and the Neural DSP team.
Morgan Amps Suite X is a free update for existing owners, and a 14-day free trial is available from Neural DSP.
