The second-generation powered cab keeps its 10-inch woofer and 140 watts, but re-tunes the acoustics, cleans up the signal path and adopts the look of the Spark 2.
Positive Grid has redesigned its Spark CAB powered speaker, and the new Spark CAB 2 comes with re-tuned acoustics, a refined signal path and a finish matched to the Spark 2 amp.

Like the original, it’s a full-range, flat-response (FRFR) cabinet with a 10-inch woofer and two one-inch tweeters driven by 140 watts RMS, so most of the changes are in how it’s built and voiced. The lightweight wooden cabinet has been re-tuned for more detail and a tighter, more defined low end, while an updated conversion stage and revised gain staging give a cleaner signal path.

Spark players get a dedicated input for connecting any Spark amp or the new Spark PEDAL, and the cab doubles as a power hub, so the whole rig runs from a single outlet. A DC output powers the Spark 40 and Spark 2, while the USB-C port powers and charges the Spark MINI, GO and PEDAL and also handles firmware updates.
It isn’t limited to Positive Grid gear either. Stereo combo XLR/TRS inputs accept anything with a line-level output, including modellers, pedals and other amps, and a balanced XLR output can feed the PA while the cab works as personal foldback, with independent volume controls for the stage and front of house. A contour switch lifts the lows and highs for a more balanced sound at lower volumes, and there’s a ground lift for dealing with hum.
The Spark CAB 2 is available now in Black or Pearl, and existing Spark CAB owners can log in to Positive Grid’s site for an upgrade offer.
