Melbourne Music Week Extended partners with Melbourne Museum for expansive summer concert series

Words by Will Brewster

Going down every weekend in January.

As the city continues to open into the new year, the team behind Melbourne Music Week Extended have announced a partnership with Melbourne Museum to bring a series of summer concerts to their plaza throughout January.

From January 8-23 on each Friday and Saturday in January, the Museum will host a number of outdoor concerts to showcase some of Melbourne’s favourite performers, with the outdoor setting allowing for all punters to enjoy the festivities.

Highlights from the concert series include MzRizk’s Halo Vocal Ensemble; a collection of 12 artists performing funk, RnB and hip-hop, with The Operatives taking over the Museum the night after for a huge showcase of hip-hop and RnB.

Other concerts include an Anti Fade Records showcase with Bananagun and a tribute to the late great Tony Allen via Foreign Brothers, while Crown Ruler and Wondercore will close out the series with a Space Echo Plaza event.

Check out all the details below. Tickets for all events are on sale now in strictly limited quantities, so make sure you get in quick.
