Facilitating the program are Danny Harley (known to most as The Kite String Tangle), Dominik Felsmann and Konstantin Kersting – a multi-platinum, multi-award-winning trio who have worked alongside David Guetta, Fisher, Steve Aoki, Tones and I and the DMA’S, among others. The program itself has been developed by 4000 Studios and is aimed at both emerging and established songwriters and producers looking to strengthen not just their craft, but their understanding of how the industry actually works.
Adam Townsend, Director of Writer Services at APRA AMCOS, says, “13 years into SongHubs, we’re thrilled to announce the first ever SongHubs Academy Advanced. Targeted at both emerging and established music creators, the program has been specifically designed to elevate their creative and technical abilities to world-class level, giving attendees game-changing insights to take their career to the next stage.”
“We built this training around one simple truth: making music is only one part of the job. Everything around it – building a career, navigating the industry, making it sustainable – is a completely different skill set that most people have to figure out on their own. The program focuses on three things: demystifying the business side of a creative career in a structured way, sharing the lessons we’ve learned along the way, and creating space for reflection, honest conversations and perspective,” says Felsmann.
SongHubs Academy Advanced sits within APRA AMCOS’s broader SongHubs program, which has connected over 2,000 Australian and New Zealand songwriters across more than 30 locations worldwide, producing upwards of 6,000 tracks in the process.
Applications from APRA AMCOS members are open until Sunday 12 April at apraamcos.com.au.
This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through Music Australia.
