Featuring two independent compression channels switchable via footswitch, each channel comes with its own controls and a shared threshold.
Guitarists who need different compression for rhythm and lead work have traditionally had to carry two compressor pedals, or settle for one setting that doesn’t do either job well. Carl Martin’s new Dual Compressor Limiter solves that problem by putting two fully independent compression channels into a single enclosure.

Each channel gets its own COMP and LEVEL knobs. Dial in a subtle levelling compression for rhythm work on one side, push the other channel harder for lead sustain, then switch between them instantly via footswitch or external remote jack. There’s no need to adjust knobs mid-set or swap hardware between songs.
Both channels share a global THRESHOLD control, which means they respond to the same trigger point based on your playing dynamics. Switch channels, and the pedal’s behaviour stays predictable. You’re not relearning it every time you change settings.
A DRY blend control mixes your uncompressed signal underneath the compressed signal. This lets you add thickness to your tone while keeping the original attack and articulation audible. Rhythm playing retains its definition and lead notes get sustain without losing their initial punch.
The 105dB signal-to-noise ratio and 0.05% THD deliver studio-grade specs in a stage pedal. The pedal internally steps up its 9V input to 12V, increasing headroom so compression stays stable under harder playing. Compression range extends from 1:1 all the way to 30:1, covering everything from subtle levelling to hard peak limiting.
True bypass passes your signal unaffected when the pedal is off. Remote switching via a 1/4″ jack lets you change channels from elsewhere on your board or via an external controller, useful if your pedalboard layout doesn’t leave room for footswitch access.
Carl Martin’s existing Andy Timmons signature compressor offers dual presets, but with fixed factory settings and fewer controls per channel. The new Dual Compressor Limiter gives you adjustable threshold and independent COMP and LEVEL controls on each side, so you can tailor both channels exactly how you need them.
The pedal is available in Australia through F. Payton & Son (Paytons).
