Plugin Alliance has released free updates across 64 Brainworx-developed plugins, bringing UI scalability, performance improvements and new features to existing customers at no cost.
Paid upgrades have become so normalised in the plugin world that a free major update is almost unheard of. Plugin Alliance’s first major portfolio update since 2018 has just landed, covering 64 Brainworx-developed plugins, and every existing customer gets it for free.
The headline feature is UI scalability. All 64 updated plugins now support full window resizing, letting you scale the interface to suit your display and session setup. For anyone running high-resolution monitors or complex DAW layouts, it’s a long-overdue fix.

Beyond scalability, every plugin in the updated portfolio also receives a unified toolbar featuring preset banks A, B, C and D alongside Undo and Redo functionality, plus code-level performance improvements across the board. There’s also an optional, opt-in usage data tracking feature, which is entirely voluntary and intended to help Plugin Alliance prioritise future improvements.
A handful of plugins received more targeted updates on top of the portfolio-wide changes. The bx_2098 EQ now offers two switchable UI layouts along with improved metering, while the Purple Audio MC 77 gets a redesigned collapsible interface with a three-step system that lets you shrink the plugin footprint without losing access to controls. The bx_limiter has been refreshed to the current Brainworx design standard with bug fixes throughout, and both the bx_oberhausen and Knif Audio Knifonium have had missing NKS format support restored.
All eight SPL Module plugins have also received a new unified interface design, bringing a consistent look across the entire module family.
Plugin Alliance has indicated that this isn’t a one-off effort, and more updates are already in development, with further details to come throughout 2026.
To grab the updates, existing licence holders can download the latest versions through the Plugin Alliance Installation Manager. Users on Core or Pro Plans have access to all 64 plugins mentioned.
