Spitfire Audio and Akai Professional have released two Originals libraries for MPC, bringing AIR Studios-recorded strings and cinematic pads to the MPC ecosystem for the first time.
Spitfire Audio and Akai Professional have released two sample libraries for the MPC ecosystem: Originals Intimate Strings MPC Edition and Originals Cinematic Pads MPC Edition. Both are available now, making good on the partnership the two companies announced at NAMM 2026.
Recorded at AIR Studios, the London room behind countless film scores, both libraries have been optimised for playability and expressive control on MPC pads and controllers. These aren’t just ports that happen to work on MPC hardware; they’ve been adapted specifically for how producers actually use the platform.

Originals Intimate Strings MPC Edition draws from one of Spitfire’s most popular chamber string libraries, performed by 25 London session players. The MPC Edition includes close and tree mic signals, Expression and Dynamics sliders and built-in reverb, giving players real-time control without sacrificing speed.
Originals Cinematic Pads MPC Edition takes a different approach. Rather than traditional instruments, it offers 23 presets of evolving atmospheric textures that blend orchestral sources, synth elements and processed sounds. Parameters like Reverb, Attack, Release and Distort, alongside Mellow, Bright and Cinematic signal options, let producers shape movement and space from the pads directly.
Spitfire Audio founder Paul Thomson has a personal connection to the hardware: “Akai Professional gear has been with me for most of my music career – I even started out writing orchestral drama underscores on an MPC60. Bringing our Originals libraries into that ecosystem is such an exciting next step. These libraries were made to be played expressively, and the MPC line gives musicians exactly that. I can’t wait to see what musicians create when the two come together!”
Akai Professional’s Andy Mac echoed that sentiment, saying, “The MPC has always been about giving producers the tools to build something real – something with feeling. Bringing Spitfire Audio’s Originals libraries into the MPC ecosystem means producers now have access to some of the most expressive, cinematic sounds ever recorded, right at their fingertips on the pads. Whether you’re scoring a scene or building a beat, Intimate Strings and Cinematic Pads were made for exactly the kind of music MPC producers make.”
Both libraries are compatible with MPC OS 3.7.1. More information at spitfireaudio.com and akaipro.com.
