The GUI for Sampleson’s new SkyWaves plugin is eye-catching. Seemingly dominated by a sci-fi action film-esque image, the GUI features just four main controls: Analogue Synths 1-3 and Wavetable Synth, with an Analogue FX and Main Gain control.

What makes SkyWaves unique is that the film scene serves to help the user effect, modulate and adjust macro controls for a more immersive and expressive sound experience. The Gain of the separate analogue synths can be blended and mixed, while the Macros (assignable on the top menu of the plugin) can be used to adjust on the fly, or perform different sounds while affecting different parameters. Dragging your cursor shifts pitch, effects, modulation or delay depth depending on your settings, and can easily inspire both expansive soundscapes or off-kilter, anxiety inducing shifts to energy and mood of a piece of music.
The four synths feed into effects, offering Delay, Shimmer or Algorithmic Reverb before a Main Gain control. The SkyWaves plugin is available now for an introductory sale price, and joins Sampleson’s huge range of plugins designed to create soundscapes or hone in on dedicated sounds.
