With a whopping 26 inputs and outputs, with eight analogue TRS/XLR combo inputs (two mic/instrument, six mic/line), two headphone outputs and a volume knob on the front panel of the unit, the Quantum 2626 looks to appease both home recording enthusiasts and budding studio engineers. All of these inputs are fitted with PreSonus’s acclaimed XMAX preamps and hardware gain controls, while phantom power can be employed on inputs 1-4 and 5-8 separately. The Quantum 2626 also uses a conversion rate of 192 kHz / 24 bit with a wide dynamic range of 115 dB, while its Thunderbolt 3 driver delivers a round-trip latency of less than a millisecond. Consider this to be the Roadrunner of audio interfaces.
On the rear, the Quantum boasts eight DC-coupled balanced analogue TRS outputs, a stereo main output and two preamp outputs with line returns to introduce further outboard processing. There’s also ADAT Optical/Dual SMUX inputs and outputs to expand your channel availability, as well as a low-jitter Wordclock and MIDI in/out.
