NAMM 2020: Framus launch the Devin Townsend D-Series Stormbender

If you’re one of those punters who couldn’t afford the steep price-tag of the original model last year (understandable), you’ll be stoked to hear this news. The D-Series Stormbender features a mahogany body with a deluxe AAAA flame maple veneer top, and is graced with a solid black high polish finish for a stunning, shadowy aesthetic. There’s also a set maple neck for enhanced sustain and tonal dependability, while a 22-fret tiger-stripe ebony fretboard will let you lick up and down the neck with style and grace.

Framus aren’t known to be a brand that skimps out on quality, so it’s refreshing to see that they’ve kept the acclaimed Fishman Fluence Devin Townsend signature pickups from last year’s Artist Stormbender loaded in the neck and bridge positions. Elsewhere, the D-Series Stormbender features Framus tuning heads, a sturdy Tune-o-matic bridge and staunch black hardware, and comes in a RockBag Deluxe Line gig bag.

Check out our review of the original Artist Line Stormbender from last year, and head to Amber Technology for details on when these will land in stores.
