Taking its namesake from Clara Rockmore, a prominent thereminist who also proved to be pivotal in the R&D of the instrument, the Claravox Centennial packs an arsernal of modern features such as MIDI I/O and a bucket-brigade delay, with switchable Traditional and Modern modes allowing for a wide range of synthesised tones.
In addition to boasting a classic Moog filter and heterodyne analogue oscillators, the Claravox also offers players new mulit-mode DSP oscillators with sawtooth, triangle, sine and wavetables. There’s also a wave-shaping circuit derived from Moog’s cherished Etherwave Pro, allowing for enhanced tone sculpting and a rich spectrum of sounds.
Pitch quantisation and assignable scales can also be utilised for a smoother playing experience, while selectable octaves, preset storage, USB/CV and an intuitive software editor help to transport the Claravox well into the 21st Century.
