The HeadRush Looperboard provides four mono/stereo loop tracks, which can be used in any of five track modes: Fixed, Serial, Sync, Serial/Sync or Free, with each mode leaning towards a particular looping workflow. With a massive eight hours of recording time built into the unit, the Looperboard’s memory capacity can be expanded further using an SD card, USB or computer via USB.
With 12 footswitches sitting pretty atop of the Looperboard (each with their own corresponding LED), the HeadRush allows for control over record, overdub, reverse, transpose, bounce, undo/redo, peel and fade functions, as well as helping to navigate the unit if the touchscreen isn’t up your alley. You’ll also be gifted the opportunity to apply effects such as time-stretching through tap tempo, as well as reverse, fade, multiply and other functions – however, given how tricky live looping can be, it’s probably best to treat these as composition tools.
There’s even 300 percussion and drum loops built into the Looperboard, with the unit also shipping with a HeadRush edition of Pro Tools to help get those tracks out of your looper and into your DAW of choice. With four combo XLR/TRS inputs with switchable +48v phantom power, two XLR outputs with ground-lift, 2 TRS outputs, a stereo headphone output with dedicated volume knob, 1/8″ stereo aux input and MIDI in and out/thru inputs, you’ll be gifted with unlimited potential for creating immersive loops.
