As reported by Musicradar.com, the guitar, which was launched by an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, is the first self-sustaining, completely portable electric guitar that allows playing on the go, recording and sharing with ease. With iPhone integration countless guitar effects, amplifier modelling, total tone control and 8-track recording are all on offer, while your favourite music-making apps such as GarageBand and AmpliTube are merely a click away.
Just as impressive though is the ingenuity and quality invested in the guitar’s setup, highlighted by a Class-D 20w amplifier and two 30w Tymphany Peerless speakers, plus a high/mid-range driver – all of which ensure HD quality sound. Tone is provided by two high output hot rail humbucker pickups, each with a single coil. When combined with the integrated digital iOS guitar interface and its ability to produce studio quality sound with 24-bit / 48 kHz audio conversion, the Fusion Guitar is a game changer when it comes to solo, DIY recording.
As a standalone instrument the Fusion Guitar maintains a traditional full-scale design and feel, with the body constructed from a polymer/fiber composite, and a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. With useability paramount, a standard jack output and 3.5mm stereo line in/out enable a conventional setup with the use of a regular guitar amp, with or without iPhone processing and utilising the onboard effects.
The guitar’s lithium-ion battery offers 12 hours of play time, and recharges in just over an hour making it ideal for any situation. The innovative Fusion Guitar may be the best product we have seen to date encapsulate the ‘all-in-one’ instrument that musicians are constantly striving for. It is currently available to preoder for $429 USD (plus shipping).
