What’s next for Oberheim is now clear!

(April 13) After retaining the rights to trademark his name for the first time since 1985 last year, Tom Oberheim has decided to use it for the betterment of the brand and not just to retire and rest on his very impressive laurels.

A teaser video makes things none the clearer as he sits at a bar designing a synth on napkins with engineer Marcus Ryle (co-founder of Line 6/co-creator of the ADAT), while Dave Smith and Tony Karavidas from Sequential are behind the bar.
We can assume that a new synth is on the way, but we’re not exactly sure what yet. The “party like it’s 2099” tag could be a reference to Prince’s ‘1999’ which could suggest something to do with the OB-X series.
