Following the success of his limited edition Custom Shop signature model in 2021, Fender now releases the Ensenada-built Mike McCready Stratocaster.

Pearl Jam left their mark on the grunge, rock and alternative movement with their music throughout the 90s. Their lead guitarist, Mike McCready, is today recognised with the Mike McCready Stratocaster. It’s a 60s-style Strat in a road worn finish with a combination of vintage-correct and updated, modern specs.

McCready’s own brand of blues-infused rock licks and riffs have seen him relying on a Strat for decades now.

Built from alder, a traditional Strat tonewood, coupled with a neck carve to match McCready’s own 1960 Stratocaster make for a well-adjusted and refined feeling guitar. The road worn finish is comfortable, the texture giving the feel of a worn-in and well-loved guitar, while the 9.5” fretboard radius is flatter and more modern than traditionally found on vintage Strats. A flatter radius helps smooth out bends for modern playability, and coupled with the slab rosewood fretboard, make for an amalgamation of what has made Fender’s so great, as well as modern refinements that have helped McCready leave his own legacy.

The Mike McCready Stratocaster arrives safely in a deluxe brown hardshell, and the pickups are voice especially to replicate McCready’s vintage single-coil pickups to replicate the tone heard across Pearl Jam’s history.
