Jackson and Charvel have built a baritone guitar and a five-string bass to the exact specs of the masked band's guitarist and bassist, both out now.

Sleep Token’s masked guitarist and bassist, known only as IV and III, now have instruments of their own. Jackson and Charvel released the pair today – the Jackson Pro Plus Series Signature Sleep Token IV Monarkh SC and the Charvel Sleep Token III Signature Pro-Mod San Dimas Bass V – the first signature models either brand has made with the band.

IV’s riffs form the backbone of Sleep Token’s sound. The Monarkh is a baritone made for his whole-octave-down tuning, with a 30-inch scale length that holds tension in the low registers and an EverTune 6 bridge with custom saddles for tuning that stays put.

The bound mahogany body carries a quilt maple veneer, the three-piece caramelised maple neck is capped with a compound-radius pale moon ebony fingerboard and 22 stainless steel frets, and a pair of direct-mount Fishman Fluence Open Core Classic humbuckers handle everything from clean tones to saturated leads. It comes finished in transparent black burst, with a matching headstock, pearloid teardrop inlays and a foam-core case.

III’s low-end work is the glue in Sleep Token’s sound – architectural one moment, then groove-driven and melody-forward the next. The San Dimas is a five-string with a poplar body and a caramelised maple neck and fingerboard, running a 12 to 16-inch compound radius with jumbo frets.

The 34.4 to 35.5-inch multi-scale fanned frets even out string tension across all five strings, which tightens up intonation and gives the low end its percussive attack. Custom red Fishman Fluence soap-bar pickups offer three voicings on a three-way mini toggle, with a 2-band Fishman EQ and a blend knob for mixing the pickups. A reverse licensed Stratocaster headstock and a question-mark fret inlay nod to the band’s aesthetic.

“Sleep Token’s sonic and visual identity is so distinctive, and the Jackson and Charvel signature models are a huge part of shaping that sound,” said Justin Norvell, Chief Product Officer, Fender Guitars. “We’re always looking for artists who redefine what a signature instrument can be, and Sleep Token does exactly that.”

Both instruments are available now, and IV and III have shared an instrumental take on “Vore” playing the two.
