Curator – Vivid Music (Sydney)

Vivid Music comprises an extensive series of live performances and cross genre musical collaborations featuring some of the world’s most renowned musicians. Vivid Music includes a cutting-edge contemporary music program featuring collaborations and performances from local and international acts at various venues across the city.

The Curator, Vivid Music will work collaboratively with the Festival Director Vivid Sydney, Producer – Vivid Music; relevant Vivid Sydney staff and Destination NSW teams and engages as required with external stakeholders including promoters, artists, agents, talent, corporate partners, venues and external partners to develop and curate an innovative and progressive Vivid Music program.

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop a program rationale and annual plan with the Producer – Vivid Music, as directed by the Festival Director outlining suggested Vivid Music developments/ initiatives and partnerships, and program alignment with the festival’s creative direction and strategic objectives.
  • Undertake research to advise and inform the Festival Director in the selection, evaluation and/or development of new and existing programs, event proposals, strategies and opportunities culminating in the development of the final Vivid Music program.
  • Participate in all Vivid Music Expression of Interest (EOI) and/or other evaluation panels, along with Destination NSW nominated representatives, including attending all panel meetings to evaluate and confirm program content.
  • Provide ongoing curatorial development and guidance to selected program proponents, including working with the Producer – Vivid Music to prepare and maintain a detailed dossier highlighting key information of each element of the Vivid Music program for Destination NSW and Vivid Sydney teams’ reference.
  • Work collaboratively with the Producer – Vivid Music in preparing all program specific documentation relating to the Vivid Music program (including project timelines, event schedules, programming matrixes, program guide, program calendar, post event reports etc.).
  • Work collaboratively with the Producer – Vivid Music to liaise with all third-party event owners, venues, producers, promoters and participants within the Vivid Ideas program to:
  • Ensure that all relevant personnel are, at all times, fully briefed on all aspects of the proposed program. This includes collaborating with Destination NSW’s Marketing and Communications Divisions to ensure content information is accurate and secured for the purpose of marketing and communication strategies
  • Ensure that all necessary third-party assets (such as publicity photographs, press releases, biographies, etc.) are available to Destination NSW when necessary
  • Programming of music artists appropriate to Vivid Sydney owned or produced events or functions such as program launch. opening night, corporate hospitality and other similar contributor/stakeholder functions
  • Collaborate with the Festival Director, Producer – Vivid Music and Commercial Partnerships Manager, Vivid Sydney to identify and secure Vivid Sydney commercial and industry partners relevant to the Vivid Music program in accordance with Vivid Sydney sponsorship guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with the Producer – Vivid Music and with Destination NSW’s Marketing and Communications Divisions and other relevant staff to develop and produce all necessary program specific collateral e.g., design and content development for the Vivid Sydney website.
  • Represent Destination NSW and Vivid Sydney through pre-approved electronic and verbal presentations on the Vivid Music program including acting as a media spokesperson from time to time (where requested and as pre- approved by Destination NSW).
  • Provide expert advice to the Producer – Vivid Music to facilitate negotiation with Vivid Music contractors to ensure the most cost effective and quality solutions are delivered whilst all procurement requirements are met.
  • Under the direction of the Festival Director, actively collaborate with Vivid Light and Vivid Ideas to produce cross art form activations, cross-promotion of events, ideas, innovative practice and creative outcomes.
  • Prepare a range of relevant correspondence including copywriting, presentation development, and reports as required.
  • Collaborate with the Producer – Vivid Music and the Festival Director, in preparing, administering and reporting on the Vivid Music budget.
  • Assist the Producer – Vivid Music to develop, implement and manage the post event reporting of the Vivid Music event owners.
  • Maintain all event specific documentation including historical documentation of the planning process and project administration tasks, and critical documents using appropriate document templates and document register system including records management.
  • Any other general administrative work that would be required to deliver on the above services/duties/outcomes and/or as directed by Destination NSW.

Technical Support Officer – ABC (Melbourne)

ABC Radio Australia is the ABC’s international radio station, broadcasting the latest news, sports, music and conversations from across the Pacific region, Timor Leste and Australia. ABC Radio Australia broadcasts trusted independent regional news and conversations in English and Tok Pisin, the best Australian content from ABC Radio National, live coverage of the NRL, specialist Pacific sport programming, the latest Pacific Island music, and unique programming for Pacific women and families.

Working with the largest public broadcast network, the role will see you record and technically produce audio content to meet the standards of a variety of output and transmission systems, as well as perform complex sound recording, editing and mixing functions, primarily for Radio Australia.

Working closely with the Operations Coordinator, you will design, plan and manage the technical operational requirements of generally complex productions and outside recordings.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • You’ll have a deep understanding of current broadcast technologies, systems, and equipment and networked audio, including the ability to adapt to new multi-media technologies.
  • You possess well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with a capacity to negotiate, establish relationships and work well under pressure.

Audio Producer – Nine (Sydney)

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Strong experience in studio and field recording, and post-production in Adobe Audition
  • Ability to script, voice and edit audio stories that push boundaries and innovate

Lecturer in Music Theatre – University of Adelaide

The Conservatorium is seeking an academic with a proven reputation for excellence and practice-based expertise in performing arts in one or more of the following areas: Direction, Music Direction, Choreography and Movement, Production, Acting and Voice.

In this role, you will help lead and encourage an environment of professional excellence, creativity and innovation and engage with the broader academic, research and professional community, to promote and enhance the national and international profile of the Conservatorium and the University.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Successful completion of a doctoral or masters qualification OR completion of a bachelors qualification in performing arts and a minimum of 5 years performing arts industry experience.
  • A proven reputation for excellence and practice-based expertise in performing arts in one or more of the following areas: Direction, Music Direction, Choreography and Movement, Production, Acting and Voice.
  • A proven reputation and industry experience in production management with a minimum of three years of experience in a professional environment.
  • A proven record of teaching and assessment in performing arts within a tertiary environment.
  • Demonstrated creative achievement and/or professional contribution to music theatre that aligns with the University’s Excellence in Research Australia (ERA) profile.
