Production Manager – Mona Foma (Hobart)

Mona is seeking an experienced Production Manager to work with our brilliant team to deliver the Museum of Old and New Art’s Festival of Music and Art (Mona Foma) in January 2022. The role is responsible for the planning and implementation of all production and site aspects of the Mona Foma program and holds people leadership and stakeholder relationship accountabilities.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Relevant experience leading a production team in a major festival context.
  • Confident and experienced in simultaneously managing numerous complex and diverse projects.
  • Experience in production management of arts presentations spanning music, visual art, theatre, and dance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in developing productive relationships with stakeholders, contractors, artists, companies, venues, and arts industry partners.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and background in negotiating contractual arrangements and supplier deals.
  • Successful track record of establishing accurate, informative budgets for complex projects.
  • Competent in managing the logistics of productions associated with the delivery of a major arts festival.
  • Collaborative and flexible approach to problem-solving and information sharing.
  • Demonstrated organisational ability – must be able to work with a range of industries and stakeholders.
  • High-level competence using IT, including Word, Excel, and database programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Tasks / Responsibilities Include: 

  • Manage and implement production and site requirements of festival projects and events (including planning, management, scheduling production, and technical support services, legislation, personnel, and facilities).
  • In conjunction with relevant festival personnel, develop and maintain the Production Schedule, Event Schedule, Event Management Plan, and Event Permit Applications, as required.
  • Provide detailed production advice to festival personnel in respect of events, venues, logistics, and costs throughout development stages.
  • Ensure the development of accurate site plans and manage permit requirements for various sites as required by the venues, councils, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage an approved production budget, providing regular reports to senior management.
  • Recruit and manage production staff, contractors, and internal secondments, working across music, visual art, theatre, dance, and live art.
  • Ensure compliance by all staff and contractors with relevant Workplace Health and Safety legislation and Mona policies, including COVID-19.

Product Support Engineer, Electronics – Rode Microphones (Sydney)

RØDE Microphones is looking for a passionate, talented and dedicated Product Support Engineer to join our rapidly-growing manufacturing team, working in our state-of-the-art production facilities in Sydney. The Production Support Engineer will be responsible for providing support to resolve technical issues by continuously engaging with the manufacturing team and other stake holders.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Good technical understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated understanding of electronic circuit diagrams.
  • Significant experience in fault finding electronic circuits.
  • Demonstrated experience using electronic tools such as multi meters and oscilloscopes.
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to solder, the ability to micro solder will be highly regarded.
  • Advanced computer literacy, familiar with Microsoft office tools.
  • Significant experience reporting on issues and fixes.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Experience or interest in audio is desirable.
  • At least 3 years experience using Altium.
  • Advanced diploma or engineering degree (Electrical/Electronics)
  • Analytical mind
  • Exceptional attention to detail

Tasks / Responsibilities Include: 

  • Pursuing innovative ideas to improve productivity
  • Maintaining interaction with production staff and develop workable solutions to technical issues.
  • Ensuring maintenance, repair, and replacement of production equipment is carried out on timely manner.
  • Documenting improved process learnings and share best practices with the team.
  • Studying and recommending corrective actions for enhancing manufacturing efficiency
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and document PCBA’s having failures on production Acoustic, RF, and electronic automated test equipment (ATE).
  • Monitor the failure rate of PCBA’s then investigate and recommend fixes to reduce rejects.
  • Ensuring all electrical/electronic tools and equipment are properly working, maintained and continuously improved.
  • Assemble and build various smart electronic tools and jigs with guidance from electronic engineer team lead to aide production operators.
  • Complying with all obligations under Work Health and Safety Legislation.
