Tom Morello announced as key speaker for BIGSOUND 2020

The legendary guitarist noted the importance of events like BIGSOUND during times like these in a statement released today, saying “Join me at BIGSOUND to talk music, activism, and how the guitar can be a divining rod for truth and justice. The world is at a dangerous crossroads and it’s time to feed the poor, fight the power, and rock the f**k out.”

Morello will be joined by the likes of Australian songwriting master Kev Carmody and contemporary trailblazers Tones And I and Amy Shark to deliver key speeches for the industry conference this October.

Other speakers locked in for the event include Ziggy Ramo, Rhoda Roberts, Mumu Fresh and viral cooking sensation Nat’s What I Reckon, who will be treating punters to an exclusive cooking show.

Elsewhere, Howard Freeman, a celebrated tour and production manager who has previously worked on shows for the likes of Neil Young, AC/DC Prince, Eminem and the Rolling Stones, is set to host “a poignant session exploring the hard realities of life on the road, the impacts it has on mental and physical health, and creating a culture of help-seeking”, while I OH YOU founder Johann Ponniah will also deliver a keynote address for 2020.

BIGSOUND will release their second speaker announcement and full program schedule towards the end of the month – stay tuned for more details when it lands.
