Melbourne’s historic live music venue The Espy announces reopening plans

With the once buzzing venue now being managed by Peter Bain-Hogg, creator of acclaimed music quiz show RocKwiz, it looks like The Espy is set to return to its former glory, offering punters three different stages as well as three bars (including a cocktail bar) and a Cantonese restaurant.

In a statement for the venue, Bain-Hogg expressed his desire to turn The Espy into a venue which encompasses “an eclectic range of contemporary music tastes.”

“We want The Espy to be a destination for music-lovers from Melbourne, Australia, and all over the world… A trusted venue where they will be able to hear leading local and international artists, and see up-and-coming artists cut their teeth.”

It’s also worth noting that The Esplanade Hotel’s ambitious reopening plans are set to create around 300 jobs for the venue – if you’re keen on working for this iconic establishment, check out some of the positions they’re looking for here.
