Arts Centre Melbourne announces Operator workshops

Operator is set to run from Thursday April 23 to May 28, and will take over Arts Centre Melbourne’s custom-spec recording space The Channel, giving students an unparalleled opportunity to learn how to produce in a state-of-the-art facility. The workshops will see students learn about the basics of electronic music production and live performance, as well as how to go about producing with Ableton Live.

In a statement released today, Chiara Costanza – aka DJ Chiara Kickdrum – celebrated the Operator initiative, saying that “I think one of the most important things is to be yourself without even thinking you are female. You are a producer, not a female producer. It’s important to work hard and be patient as learning takes time. But I feel if you develop the right process you will be able to find your voice and discover what you want to say with your music.”

Check out the details below. There’s only 16 slots available, and we reckon they’ll be pretty hard to snag, so make sure you get your application in quick.
