The Art Music Fund will see a total of $100,000 be divided between those that apply for a percentage of the pool. Grants will be available for the creation of commissioned work that is complemented by an exploitation program – designed to maximise the life of the work.
Composers are expected to collaborate with ensembles, producers, orchestras, recording companies, broadcasters, festivals and other third parties, ensuring that the work will be guaranteed exposure from various forms of expression. As a general rule, grants will be from AU $10,000 – AU$30,000.
Announced last year, the fund is just part of the initiative to assist art music composers and other musicians. APRA AMCOS expects that in forging these partnerships and encouraging collective collaboration, the grants will inspire impressive new projects.
