Gretsch has announced the Electromatic Premier Jet, a new guitar that builds on the celebrated Electromatic and Streamliner Jet series with premium appointments, powerful new pickups and a spec sheet designed for players who want more from their Gretsch.

The Electromatic line has built a strong following for good reason, and the new Premier Jet gives players even more to work with.

“For years, the Electromatic and Streamliner Collections have offered Gretsch power and fidelity to a broad range of players,” said Jason Barnes, VP of Gretsch. “While Gretsch has always been renowned for its truly iconic tone and style, the Electromatic Premier Collection elevates the playing experience even further with incredible sonic punch and definition, effortless playability and of course, signature Gretsch style.”

The centrepiece of the build is a pair of Alnico 6-powered Sphera Twin-Six humbuckers, which balance modern clarity with vintage warmth – a combination that suits the Premier Jet’s broad tonal range well. A master volume with treble bleed circuit, push-pull Lumen filter, and dual no-load tone controls round out the electronics, covering everything from clean and sparkling to tight, high-gain riffing.

Construction-wise, the Premier Jet features a chambered mahogany body with a bound carved maple top and sculpted contours for comfort and resonance. The mahogany neck carries a performance “C” profile, with a compound-radius bound ebony fingerboard and Luminlay side dots keeping things comfortable across the full range of the neck. Tuning stability is handled by a Lockdown locking adjustable wraparound bridge, locking tuners and a GraphTech NuBone nut.

Four finishes are available, including Robusto Burst, Onyx Storm, Clairvoyant and Vintage Pearl, each leaning into the kind of bold visual identity that Gretsch players expect.

For the launch, Gretsch enlisted guitarist Jordan Ziff, known for his work with RATT and the Marty Friedman Band, for an introduction video that puts the Premier Jet to the test. The clip follows a broader video series featuring Blood Command, FANGZ and Mother Vulture that has clocked over 10.1 million views across three videos.
