The IER-M500 extends Sony's professional audio range to the stage, with a sealed dynamic driver design and four tip sizes for a secure, isolating fit.
Sony has launched the IER-M500, in-ear monitors built for live performance with input from professional monitor engineers.

Four sizes of noise-isolating earpieces are included, with a polyurethane layer in the earpiece construction adding to the isolation. Sony’s original fitting supporters and flexible ear hangers provide extra stability for performers who move around.
Inside, a dynamic driver paired with a large acoustic chamber handles the low end, while the optimised internal structure is tuned for high-frequency reproduction. The fully sealed housing adds to the overall isolation, and the IER-M500 is fully high-resolution compatible.
For stage use, the approximately 1.6m detachable cable is built to handle repeated plugging and unplugging, and the housing is moisture resistant for sweat and splashes. Cable clips are included, and each unit is clearly marked left and right. Available in clear, black and a red-and-blue combination.
Monitor engineer Noel Edwards, who works on major international tours, worked with Sony on the IER-M500: “I usually use custom-fit in ear monitors, but the sound quality of these in-ear monitors is pretty close for comparison. If you are in a situation where you need universal in-ear monitors and want a reliable pair, these are a great option.”
The IER-M500 arrives in Australia late August 2026. Check them out here.
