One of the country's most exciting live performers today is hitting the road this April.
A true trailblazer within Australian hip-hop today, Canberra’s Genesis Owusu has announced a string of live dates in support of his forthcoming debut LP Smiling With No Teeth.
The announcement comes off the back of Genesis Owusu’s acclaimed Kofi’s Black Dog Jams shows last October, which saw the dynamic MC team up with the Goon Club – a live band consisting of Kirin J. Callinan, Touch Sensitive, Julian Sudek and Andrew Klippel – to create an incendiary live show unlike any other in the country today.
Kicking off in Brisbane at The Triffid on Friday April 9, the Smiling With No Teeth Album Tour is set to make its way down the East Coast of Australia, playing all major cities before Owusu and the Goon Club trek over to play Fremantle, Perth and Adelaide.
Slated for a Friday March 5 release, Smiling With No Teeth looks set to deliver on the promise of Genesis Owusu’s breakthrough track ‘Don’t Need You’, with subsequent offerings ‘I Am’, ‘Whip Cracker’ and ‘The Other Black Dog’ only further affirming his status as one of the most unique Australian hip-hop acts of today.
