The 16-channel digital mixer combines tactile faders and encoders with built-in effects and wireless app control.
Sound engineers considering making the switch to digital, listen up. Alto Professional’s TMD16 has just landed – a 16-channel digital audio mixer designed to make professional sound more accessible for small venues, rehearsal spaces, event centres, and houses of worship.

The mixer’s layout leans heavily on tactile control, with seven 100mm capacitive touch faders with 18-segment LED indicators, a 7-inch colour display, and 10 dedicated push-button encoders with press functionality. This gives you direct access to parametric EQ, compression, effects, and preset management without menu diving.
I/O and connectivity
The TMD16 offers 16 x 12 analog I/O, with eight digital mic/line channels on combo connectors, two digital mic/stereo line channels on XLR plus two TRS connectors, and stereo RCA and 3.5mm inputs. Output options include two Main, four Subgroup, three Aux, one FX XLR outputs, two Monitor TRS outputs, and a top-panel headphone jack.
Bluetooth audio streaming handles wireless integration of backing tracks or smart device content, while USB connectivity supports recording and playback.
Processing and control
Parametric EQ and compressors come standard on all inputs and outputs, with a high-resolution effects engine covering reverbs, delays, choruses, compressor/limiter, and 7-band graphic EQ. Preset save and recall streamlines setup across different venues and events.
The Alto Pro Mix Control App for iOS and Android connects via Bluetooth LE, letting you mix remotely from anywhere in the venue. This is particularly handy when you need to hear what the room actually sounds like instead of just what’s happening behind the desk.
“If you’ve been running an analog mixer and wondering when it makes sense to go digital, this is it,” said John Boudreau, director of product development at Alto Professional. “The TMD16 gives you that same hands-on, tactile control you’re used to, plus powerful built-in effects and routing that would cost thousands to add to an analog board.”
The TMD16 runs on universal 100-240VAC power with an included IEC cable and is available now through authorised dealers worldwide.
