Words by Sam McNiece

Building upon Slash's Gibson signature range.

Guns ‘n’ Roses guitarist Slash is no stranger to a Les Paul. He’s been using the Les Paul as his go to guitar for the better part of four decades. Having many signature guitars with Gibson, this collaboration with their partner brand Epiphone allows a larger portion of people to own and use the iconic guitar.

What you need to know:

  • Slash has collaborated with Epiphone to release three new signature guitars.
  • These guitars are the Slash Les Paul Standard, Slash “Victoria” Les Paul Standard Goldtop and Slash J-45.
  • Epiphone Slash Collection marks three decades of collaboration between Gibson family of brands and Slash.

“I’m really proud to present this great line up of excellent quality, signature Epiphone guitars,” says Slash. “They sound & look fantastic. It’s all I could ask for.”

All three guitars from Slash’s Gibson collection are on offer here with more colour ways and a more affordable price tag.

First up is the classic Slash Les Paul, coming in appropriately named Appetite Burst, November Burst, Anaconda Burst and Vermillion Burst designs. These mahogany body, maple cap guitars feature a C-shape neck profile, Epiphone Custom ProBucker pickups, Epiphone LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and colour coordinated hardware appointments. The “Victoria” Goldtop seems to have the same features just with a glossy gold finish.

Slash’s Epiphone J-45 is made from Mahogony and Sitka spruce and features Grover Rotomatic tuners, Graph Tech® TUSQ™ nut and saddle, a flatter, more modern 16” fretboard radius, and an LR Baggs VTC preamp and under-saddle pickup. The acoustic comes in two finishes, Vermillion Burst and November Burst.

All guitars come with Slash’s “skully” logo behind the headstock, a signature on the body and come shipped in a custom hard case.

These guitars along with their Gibson counterparts are evergreen, meaning they will be produced for a while to come, welcome news for Les Paul heads out there.
