Spotlighting the contributions of roadies around the country.
With less than a week until it kicks off around the country, CrewCare have announced a swathe of performers to play at Roady4Roadies, a special event celebrating the contributions of the unsung heroes of the live music industry: the humble stage crew.
- Roady4Roadies is going down around the country this Sunday to celebrate the essential work performed by stage and road crew.
- Missy Higgins, Mark Seymour, John Kennedy’s 68 Comeback Special and the Brian Ritchie Trio will perform as part of the event.
- TEG Dainty, Live Nation, Chugg Entertainment and Frontier Touring have thrown their monetary support behind the event to ensure stage crew workers receive free entry to all shows.

This year’s edition of Roady4Roadies will go down in ten major city zones around the country, with Adelaide, Brisbane, Central Coast, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Newcastle, Perth and Sydney all taking part in the 2021 event. Townsville’s own event will also go down at the later date of Friday April 23.
The day will kick off with a leisurely 3-4km Roady4Roadies Walk before the family-friendly festivities begin, with all participants receive a free t-shirt and face mask as a memento of the day.
Each event will give roadies, stage crew and other backstage personnel a chance to connect with their colleagues, family and friends after a year of hardship for the live sector, as well as celebrating the tremendous work they do behind the scenes of all the biggest gigs around the country.
For 2021, Roady4Roadies will see a wide showcase of performing acts, with Roady4Roadies 2021 ambassador Missy Higgins locked in to team up with Hunters & Collectors’ Mark Seymour and Davey Lane from You Am I for a special Melbourne show at the Palais Theatre.
Elsewhere, Ben Ransom, John Kennedy’s 68 Comeback Special and Mark Callaghan and Buzz Bidstrup from GANGgajang will perform at Sydney’s Addison Road Community Centre, with other prominent performers including Spy Vs. Spy, Uncle Gilbert, Bec Lavelle, the Brian Ritchie Trio and more.
Additionally, CrewCare have announced that Chugg Entertainment, Live Nation Asia Pacific, TEG Dainty and Frontier Touring will be donating tickets to crew members and their family members who are unable to afford tickets to each event. Find out more about that here.
“We couldn’t do what we do, and artists and fans wouldn’t have great experiences together, without the invaluable team behind the scenes who just get the job done,” said Roger Field, President of Live Nation Asia-Pacific, in a statement released today.
“In the toughest time for our industry, Roady4Roadies is playing a critical role in connecting with and checking-in on crew.”
Music industry veteran Michael Chugg also threw his support behind Roady4Roadies in a statement of his own today, adding “In these hard times it’s important we support the 1000s of crew that make it happen for us while they are going through very, very hard times. Roady4Roadies is an amazing event, make sure you get there.”
Check out a full list of performing acts below. For those who wish to support the event but can’t get there physically, virtual tickets are also available to purchase, with donations going directly toward assisting stage crew members in crisis.
