Today, Australia’s post-punk powerhouse outfit Cable Ties are unveiling their third studio album, All Her Plans, out now via Poison City and Merge Records, while also sharing the video for roaring album opener, ‘Crashing Through’.

An intimate reflection of the fears attached to writing the third Cable Ties album after the band’s impressive plans were suddenly thwarted three years ago, “Crashing Through” is a positive reminder that despite being struck by something out of your control, your resilience and trust in the unknown can conquer the worst of worries.

“I found the idea of writing a new album a little terrifying after all our touring plans got cancelled just after we released Far Enough in 2020,”McKechnie says.

“It felt as though that album had been lost. I thought I needed to write another album like that again, which wouldn’t be lost. This, of course, wasn’t true. I needed to write whatever album came out of me at that moment in time.”

Accompanying “Crashing Through” is a video directed by Triana Hernandez. A kooky representation of the vexing drone of intrusive thoughts, the new clip’s cool ’90s-style video treatment showcases Cable Ties at their most affable and delightful.

The band’s most sonically confident work yet, the new album asks the question – When public support systems fall short, who ends up carrying the burden?

Thrumming with Cable Ties’ trademark intensity, the record offers concentrated, personal lyrics from lead vocalist Jenny McKechnie as she traces themes of addiction, mental health, and Australia’s flagging healthcare system, with much drawn from the experiences of her own family.

To celebrate this momentous release, Cable Ties will be heading out on tour this July/August.
