Gibson Custom has marked a century of its flat-top acoustics with a five-model Anniversary Limited Edition Collection, each guitar capped at 100 worldwide and finished in a vintage-style Cremona Burst.

The collection gathers five of Gibson’s most beloved acoustics: the J-45, Hummingbird, SJ-200, Dove and Advanced Jumbo. There’s plenty of history across lineup, from the J-45’s long run as Gibson’s best-selling acoustic to the Advanced Jumbo, which first appeared in the 1930s. Each one is handcrafted at Gibson’s Bozeman, Montana workshop and topped with select bearclaw Sitka spruce, chosen as much for its streaky natural figuring as for its response.
All five are finished in Cremona Burst, a gloss nitrocellulose finish that nods to the earliest Gibson flat-tops and sits nicely against the movement in the bearclaw grain. Abalone rosettes and abalone-accented top binding carry across the set, giving the five a shared anniversary look.
Tonewoods shift from model to model, with the J-45 and Hummingbird on mahogany back and sides, the SJ-200 and Dove on figured maple, and the Advanced Jumbo pairing rosewood back and sides with its spruce top. Rosewood fretboards, bone nuts and saddles and gold-plated Grover tuners are shared throughout. Each guitar comes with L.R. Baggs VTC electronics, with an under-saddle piezo and active preamp run from discreet volume and tone controls mounted inside the soundhole, so the vintage look stays intact. Shipped in a Gibson Custom hardshell case with a Certificate of Authenticity, the collection is available now.
