The ATH-CKS50TW’s use 9mm large-diameter drivers while the airtight, secure fit aids the sound isolation, further enhancing the bass and preventing the earbuds from falling out of the ears, even during workouts.

The noise-cancelling function can be activated using one of the buttons located on the earbuds or through the Audio-Technica Connect App

The app also allows users to customise button functions, activate the hear-through mode, adjust the equaliser to their taste, and even locate missing earbuds.

The hear-through mode allows users to be more aware of their surroundings with the click of the left button enabling the built-in microphones to record and playback the ambient sound.

The buttons also start and stop playback, skip songs, and take calls, with the latter enabling Qualcomm clear voice capture Generation 8.0 to cancel echo and suppress ambient noise during phone conversations.

Another interesting piece of software integrated into the ATH-CKS50TW is the Qualcomm TrueWireless Mirroring, where only one earpiece is directly connected to the device via Bluetooth 5.2, while the other mirrors the sound.

When the connected earpiece is turned off, the other automatically connects to the device allowing for a more energy-saving and stable operation.

Saving power shouldn’t be a huge concern for users however, as they deliver up to 20 hours of continuous playback and an additional 30 hours if used with the charging case. That’s 50 hours in total.

Additionally, the fast-charging option yields 90 minutes of playback after a brief 10 minutes of charging.

The headphones come with an IPX4 waterproof rating, handling splashing water from all directions with ease, while a new staple of Audio-Technica True Wireless and Bluetooth headphones is the multi-pairing feature.

This means the ATH-CKS50TW can be paired with more than one device simultaneously, allowing the listener to switch between them without disconnecting.

To top it off and guarantee a fully immersed listening experience, the ATH-CKS50TW features 360 Reality Audio using Sony’s object-based 360 Spatial Sound technology.

They’re available for AU$249.
