Aeroband, the award-winning smart instrument brand behind the pain-free digital guitar and portable electronic drum kits, has partnered with Amber Technology for exclusive distribution across Australia and New Zealand.

Not everyone wants to spend months building calluses before they can strum a chord – and Aeroband has built an entire product range around that idea.

Shenzhen-based Aeroband, a global smart instrument brand founded in 2015, has announced an exclusive distribution partnership with Amber Technology, bringing its technology-driven music products to musicians, educators, and retailers across Australia and New Zealand for the first time.

Catch up on all the latest news here.

Backed by nine years of R&D and multiple international innovation awards, Aeroband has sold over 85,000 units worldwide and built a community of more than 100,000 users. The brand’s appeal lies in removing the traditional friction points of learning and playing instruments, and making them more accessible – like the physical discomfort of acoustic guitar strings or the impracticality of owning a full drum kit.

The Australian range includes two hero products. The Aeroband Digital Guitar is designed for pain-free playing, featuring nine built-in tones, a built-in speaker, full MIDI compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 12-hour battery life. Weighing 2.7 kilograms, it’s always in tune, has a detachable neck for easy storage, and is available in black, white, and pink – with or without a purpose-built carrier bag.

The Aeroband PocketDrum2 takes a different approach entirely. Rather than a scaled-down kit, it’s a pair of smart drumsticks with realistic vibration feedback and 6ms latency, capable of differentiating between 128 levels of strike intensity. Each set comes with two sticks, two foot pedals, and wired headphones – no Bluetooth, no app required. Just pick up and play.

For Amber Technology Managing Director Peter Amos, the partnership represents a natural fit. “Aeroband represents a new frontier in musical creativity where digital technology and expressive performance meet,” he says.

Amber Technology is one of Australia and New Zealand’s most established distributors across professional audio, broadcast, live production, and musical instruments – making them a logical home for a brand looking to make a serious push into the Australasian market.
