REVERSIDE treats reverb as placement, so several instruments can be built to feel like they share the same space.
DEVPROAUDIO has released REVERSIDE, a dual-engine algorithmic reverb from Denis Malygin, the developer behind the Aether and B2 reverbs. Out now for macOS and Windows in VST3, CLAP and AU formats, it splits the early reflections and the reverb tail into two separate engines, so the sense of space, depth, tone and decay can be shaped in far more detail than a single-block reverb allows.

A 3D positioning system puts a virtual source and listener inside a simulated room. The geometry of that room shapes the directional character of both the early reflections and the tail. Because the sense of depth and direction comes from the structure of the space rather than plain stereo panning, several instruments can be positioned to feel like they belong in the same room instead of sitting under a separate wash of reverb, and an interactive 3D display shows the setup as things are moved around.
Each engine has its own 3-band filters, 3-band EQ, stereo tools, modulation and a dedicated mini diffuser, and reverb times, envelopes and decay filters can be set differently for left and right or in Mid/Side. A pitch-preserving modulation system with more than 100 internal LFOs animates the algorithm while keeping the tail’s harmonic detail intact, avoiding the pitch smear that catches out a lot of modulated reverbs.
The early and late engines have independent pre-delay, free or tempo-synced, and because the late engine can be timed against the early one, REVERSIDE moves into rhythmic, delay-like territory as easily as it does long halls.
A layered set of pages organises it all, with Easy and Main as the starting points and deeper pages for reflections, position, filters, EQ, stereo, diffusers and modulation. A preset library gives hundreds of starting points to work from, including packs from RumbaCodex and Nirto.
