The Wiggles – ReWiggled
If you’re one of the many who couldn’t get enough of The Wiggles’ Like A Version cover of Tame Impala’s ‘Elephant’ then you’re in the right place. The children’s music group have decided to kick things up a notch with a covers album that isn’t due to release until March 2022, but a five-track teaser has dropped to get an idea of what’s to come.
ReWiggled will be a double album that will see the current Wiggles line-up team up with OG Wiggles Murray Cook, Jeff Fatt and Greg Page. Side one will feature Wiggles classics taken on by the likes of Spacey Jane, San Cisco, Luca Brasi, and more, while side two will see The Wiggles covering Queen, AC/DC, and Fatboy Slim just to name a few!
Dr. Dre – GTA Online: The Contract
The crossover we might not have seen coming, but one that still shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone: Dr. Dre is in GTA’s new expansion pack ‘GTA Online: The Contract’, which features six new songs from Dr. Dre, who also stars as himself in the game.
One of the best and most celebrated hip-hop producers of all time brought some old mates along such as Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Anderson .Paak, Busta Rhymes, and more, while two solo tracks feature from Dre as well. Pitchfork is reporting that there are no plans to release the songs on streaming services at the moment so maybe dust off your copy and get back into the action! That is if it doesn’t take until the next GTA to download.
Nick Cave and Warren Ellis – La Panthère des Neiges
A film score is not new territory for the well-travelled pair of Nick Cave and Warren Ellis having collaborated in the past on major Hollywood films like ‘Lawless’, but this is described as their “most heartfelt and haunting film projects”.
Ellis said “there is something about the heart of this film that draws you in”.
“I realised after a day that I wanted to do whatever it took to compose an entire original score. The film deserved to have its own musical voice. I booked five days and asked Nick if he could come in for a day to write a theme song and play some piano. He saw the film and stayed for four days.
“In the end we made what I think is one of the most beautiful films we have ever worked on. One of my favourite experiences ever working on a project.”
