The keynote speakers list is headlined by Terry McBride from Nettwerk Music (Xavier Rudd, Father John Misty, Stereophonics) and the long list of talent scouts include Sub Pop (Nirvana, Fleet Foxes, Foals), Captured Tracks (Mac Demarco), Mom + Pop Records (Courtney Barnett, Tash Saltana), Paradigm Agency (Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, The XX, Bon Iver), Primary Talent International (Catfish and the Bottlemen), The Feldman Agency (Sarah McLachlan, Simple Plan, Michael Buble) and many more.
“BIGSOUND has been on my to-do list for many years and it’s so exciting to come back to Australia and to check out potential new acts for the Nettwerk Roster,” McBride said. His Nettwerk label currently have 17 artists from Australia and New Zealand already signed.
Conference-goers will also hear from BBC Radio 1’s Abbie McCarthy, Paul Brindley from think-tank Music Ally, Kamran Haq from Live Nation UK, talent buyer Jon Halperin from The Glasshouse, as well as multiple buyers from across the emerging South American market.
Bigsound Festival runs annually, and is regarded as the Southern Hemisphere’s largest gathering of industry professionals according to QMusic.
