The band’s first full length doco will debut with never before seen archival film footage and photographs, backed by state of the art audio recordings of the band’s killer music, and will also feature new interviews with Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones as well as previously unreleased interviews with the late John Bonham.
American Epic director Bernard MacMahon leads the project, which is currently in post-production, following his work on the doco-series that looked into the atmosphere and conditions of America’s first music studios.
The band members all chimed in with their thoughts on the series, with Jones contending, “The time was right for us to tell our own story for the first time in our own words, and I think that this film will really bring this story to life.”
Page said, “When I saw everything Bernard had done both visually and sonically on the remarkable achievement that is American Epic, I knew he would be qualified to tell our story.”
Plant added, “Seeing Will Shade, and so many other important early American musicians, brought to life on the big screen in American Epic inspired me to contribute to a very interesting and exciting story.”
