The iconic amp maker has launched refreshed versions of its popular practice and modelling amps, featuring vintage-inspired finishes and refined tube integration.
Vox has reintroduced three of its most popular amplifiers with fresh aesthetics that nod to the brand’s heritage. Available to order now with stock arriving at the end of January, the VT20X and VT40X Valvetronix modelling amps arrive in Classic Blue, while the beloved Pathfinder 10 gets a British Racing Green makeover.

VT20X and VT40X Classic Blue
Both Valvetronix models retain the classic VOX Split Front design but now sport a blue grille cloth that pays homage to the early 2000s Valvetronix models. Beyond the cosmetic refresh, VOX has refined how the 12AX7 tube interacts with the digital modelling, creating what they’re calling a more natural playing experience. Crucially, these remain the only modelling amps on the market that feature an authentic tube valve.
The VT20X delivers 20 watts through an 8-inch speaker, while the VT40X pushes 40 watts through a 10-inch driver. Both pack VOX’s VET+ Technology—the next generation of their Virtual Element Technology, which models circuit behaviour down to the nuances that make tube amps respond to your playing dynamics.
What sets these apart from purely digital modelling amps is how the 12AX7 tube now drives more of the tone. You get natural compression, warmth, and that “edge of breakup” response that reacts to how hard you dig in. Roll back your guitar’s volume knob and the amp cleans up organically, just like a traditional tube amp would. VOX has refined the balance between DSP precision and analogue character, aiming for rich harmonics and fluid control that feels less like a digital approximation and more like the real thing.

Pathfinder 10 British Racing Green
For players after a straightforward, no-nonsense tone, the Pathfinder 10 returns in British Racing Green with a gold VOX logo. This 10-watt combo features a 6.5-inch Bulldog speaker and delivers classic Vox character: bright, dynamic cleans and warm, responsive overdrive via a simple clean/overdrive switch.
Controls are refreshingly simple, with Gain, Bass, Treble, and Volume, while a headphone/line out handles silent practice or direct recording. Lightweight and reliable, it’s proof that sometimes the basics are all you need.
