The company took home more awards than any other manufacturer at the prestigious ceremony during NAMM 2026.

Universal Audio has made history at the 2026 NAMM Show, collecting a record-breaking six TEC Awards across multiple categories. The wins span their Apollo X Gen 2 interfaces, UAFX pedals, and UAD plug-ins, cementing UA’s position as a major force in professional audio innovation.

TEC Awards have been recognising excellence in audio production and product design since 1985. Industry professionals and the public vote on winners, making these accolades particularly meaningful. Bill Putnam Jr., UA’s CEO and founder, credits the achievement to the artists and engineers who’ve relied on their tools over the years.

Apollo x16D

Apollo x16D picked up the award for Signal Processing Hardware. Designed with front-of-house engineers and networked studios in mind, this interface delivers high-end Apollo X sound quality plus real-time UAD plug-in processing through both Thunderbolt and Dante. Scalable to 64 channels at 96kHz, it’s currently being used on stadium tours with Iron Maiden, The Black Keys, Backstreet Boys, Paul Simon, and Kendrick Lamar.

Apollo Twin X Gen 2

The compact Apollo Twin X Gen 2 won in the Computer Audio Hardware category. This desktop interface brings high-resolution conversion, Unison mic preamps, and real-time UAD processing together, letting creators track through emulations of classic Neve, API, and Manley gear with near-zero latency.

Apollo Monitor Correction Powered by Sonarworks

Apollo Monitor Correction Powered by Sonarworks took home the Amplification Hardware award. This collaboration between UA and Sonarworks brings DSP-based room and headphone calibration to Apollo X interfaces. Using the SoundID Reference app and a measurement microphone, engineers can optimise their monitoring environment for accurate mixes.

UAFX Enigmatic ’82 Overdrive Special Amp

UAFX’s Enigmatic ’82 Overdrive Special Amp won for Musical Instrument Amplification & Effects, capturing three decades of sought-after ODS amplifier tones in pedal format.

UAD Dream ’65 Reverb Amplifier

The UAD Dream ’65 Reverb Amplifier plug-in earned the Musical Instrument Software award, faithfully recreating a 1965 reverb combo amp that’s appeared on countless recordings across genres.

A-Type Multiband Dynamic Enhancer

Rounding out the wins, the A-Type Multiband Dynamic Enhancer claimed Signal Processing Software honours. This plug-in is the first complete emulation of a vintage multiband “compansion” processor, offering the presence and high-frequency clarity that helps vocals cut through dense mixes.
