Known for their ‘out there’ ideas and multimedia projects, The Residents have been at the forefront of all things weird for 40 years, after starting up in the late 1960s in California.
The identities of the band members remain largely unknown even after four decades of performing (eat your heart out, Daft Punk), and the band are regarded for their avant-garde art, in forms including music, VHS tapes, an internet video series and DVDs.
Having not performed in Australia for a decade, The Residents’ shows will no doubt sell out quickly. If you miss them at their sideshows then you will be able to catch them at Bluesfest, where they will also be presenting their multimedia-based Shadowland Tour.
